Alla Whitston
Chief Information Officer
Alla Whitston serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for MUFG Americas. As Head of Information Technology for the Americas (ITA), her responsibilities include supporting core technology functions such as strategy, applications, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, technology modernization, and IT governance. In addition, she oversees Enterprise Information Security, Program Management, and Technology Risk Management.
Alla previously served as the Chief Information Officer for Silicon Valley Bank’s Global Commercial Bank and SVB Capital divisions. In this role, she led a team responsible for all technology platforms across a diverse range of businesses, including such areas as Digital Banking, Credit Onboarding, Lending, and Trade Finance.
Previously, she served as the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President for CIT Group, where she was responsible for technology strategy and architecture, application development, infrastructure, end-user services, enterprise data, business intelligence and digital automation, and user and client experience. Alla has also held technology leadership roles at Bank of America, JP Morgan Investment Banking/Bear Stearns, and Goldman Sachs & Co. She has been actively engaged in women’s professional networks throughout her career and is a DEI champion.
Alla received recognition as one of five CIO finalists for the prestigious 2024 New York ORBIE® Awards in the Global category for her exceptional leadership and innovation in the field of technology. As a seasoned CIO, Alla has been a driving force in MUFG’s technological advancement, earning her a well-deserved spot among other top technology leaders.
She received her master’s degree in computer science with Honors from the Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
