William D. Langford, Jr.

Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of MUFG Bank, Ltd., and Global Head of Financial Crimes Compliance

Mr. William D. Langford, Jr. serves as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of MUFG Bank and Head of the Global Financial Crimes Division for MUFG. As Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Langford is responsible for overseeing the global compliance program of MUFG Bank outside of Japan.  With regard to financial crimes compliance, he is responsible for the program across MUFG globally. He joined MUFG in 2017 as Chief Compliance Officer for the Americas.

In 2015, Mr. Langford joined GE Capital as the Chief Compliance Officer where he led the team responsible for its global compliance program. Before joining GE Capital, he served as the Global Head of Compliance Architecture & Strategy at Citigroup. Previously, Mr. Langford held several positions at JPMorgan Chase & Co., including the Global Head of Compliance and Head of Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance. Mr. Langford has also served as the Associate Director for the Regulatory Policy and Programs Division of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He oversaw the Bank Secrecy Act regulatory, compliance and enforcement functions for the Agency. Mr. Langford served as the Senior Advisor to the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he focused largely on the implementation of the anti‐terrorism and anti‐money laundering provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act, including the drafting of regulations implementing these provisions.

Mr. Langford has been a member of the Advisory Board at Association of Certified Anti‐Money Laundering Specialists, LLC since September 26, 2017. Mr. Langford graduated with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law and summa cum laude from Hastings College with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics.
