MUFG Americas announces annual executive global rotations
NEW YORK, NY (March 6, 2025) – Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) today announced executive global rotations for its Americas region:
- Masatoshi (Masa) Komoriya, who currently serves as Deputy Chief Operating Officer - International (DCOO-I), Executive Chairman of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation, and Deputy Regional Executive for the Americas, will return to Japan. He will continue in his role as DCOO-I and assume a new role, effective April 1, as Deputy Head of the Global Commercial Banking Business Group, reporting to Yasushi Itagaki, Deputy President of MUFG Bank, Ltd., Group COO-I and Group Head of Global Commercial Banking Business Group.
- Hiroshi Kawano, Head of Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB) for the Americas, will succeed Mr. Komoriya as Executive Chairman of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and Deputy Regional Executive for the Americas. Mr. Kawano will remain in New York and maintain an active leadership role with the firm’s nonprofit partners in the Japanese American community. Yutaka Fujishiro, Chief of Staff in MUFG’s APAC region, will be Head of JCB Americas and a member of the Executive Committee for the Americas (ECA), effective May 16. Until the effective date, Mr. Kawano will continue to lead JCB, and he will remain on ECA.
Rui Koike, Chief of Staff, will transition from his current position effective May 16 and return to Japan to take on a new assignment. Effective May 16, he will be succeeded by Deputy Chief of Staff Yutaka Nakabayashi, who will have oversight of Latin America and Canada and be a member of the ECA.
